The most important milestone before a new innovation goes live is a pilot. In a pilot, the solution that we have developed is tested in a realistic situation. This test looks into the use by the target group, checks if the functionalities that are described in the project plan work as they should, and if the performance targets are met. If, in this phase, important aspects surface, they can be dealt with in a flexible manner, and plans can be adapted. A formal report on the pilot and the findings is drawn up by the project leader, and will be approved by the steering group.

In this phase:

• the final version of the desired service levels is fixed
• the administrative processes are configured
• monitoring and reporting are started.
